Here is our team of industry leading professionals who all benefit from experience working at world-renowned investment management and financial advisory firms including the likes of Goldman Sachs, Ruffer, GAM, UBS, and Close Brothers. Our team at Featherstone prefers practicing at a smaller and friendlier firm, providing boutique financial advice and investment management services to private clients.
Tom Forman Hardy
Chairman
Tom has a specialism in quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment funds.
He started his career at Cazenove Capital Management before a two-year graduate programme at Aberdeen Asset Management, going on to work as an investment consultant for institutional clients.
Tom has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Newcastle University (2:1).
Sophie Burke-Murphy
Investment Director
Sophie has been looking after private clients for fifteen years. She joined our team at Featherstone after spending 10 years working for Ruffer where she was primarily responsible for managing discretionary portfolios for private clients. Prior to that, she spent five years at Swiss fund manager Global Asset Management (GAM).
Sophie is a qualified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (MSCI).
Alex May
Client Director
Alex provides holistic financial advice covering retirement planning, inheritance tax mitigation, trusts, and school fee planning. He has worked with private clients since 2005 at Fidelity, UBS, and latterly at Close Brothers.
At UBS, he was also part of an internal team responsible for advising senior staff of the Investment Bank on personal financial planning.
Alex has a 2:1 in Business and Marketing from Oxford Brookes and holds the Investment Management Certificate and Financial Planning Diplomas from the CII and CISI.
Andrew Cox
Finance and Operations Director
After serving a six-year commission with the Royal Navy, Andrew moved to Goldman Sachs where he worked within derivatives markets.
He is an alumnus of the University of Exeter and the London School of Economics.
Andrew is a member of the Board and Executive Committee.
Peter Letley
Non-Executive Director
Peter has previously been Deputy Chairman of HSBC Investment Bank and Head of Europe for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce World Markets
Edmund Bailey

Gemma Pilcher
Technical Assistant
Gemma handles the day-to-day administration and operations on behalf of our clients. She joined Featherstone with over twenty years of administrative experience, initially with the Big Four accounting firms and latterly within the financial services sector.
